Acupuncture is the most widely recognized branch of traditional herbal medicine. It involves the insertion of fine, sterilized stainless-steel needles into specific points on the body, known as acupuncture points, to alleviate pain or address various health conditions. Stimulating these points has been proven effective in treating a range of specific health concerns.

The number of acupuncture treatments will depend on whether the illness is acute or chronic condition, and also on your general health and vitality. For example, you may need only few treatments for a recent ankle sprain, whereas for a long-standing, chronic illness you may need treatments once or twice a week for several weeks or months to get desired results.

Many major insurance companies cover Acupuncture and Traditional Herbal Medicine in the United States; however, the coverage varies greatly depending on the company and individual plan. It is important to check with your insurance company to see what coverage your plan offers.
